I have a small flock of 10 hens and 1 rooster! I believe that happy chickens lay more eggs! I give my chickens a healthy diet of layer feed, supplemented with veggies, fruit, and the occasional leftovers! My chickens enjoy about an hour daily of supervised free ranging time when they are not in their run and coop.
